Travel & Learner Transport Policy

Objectives

• To ensure that learners are transported in a safe manner when in our care.

Scope

• To cover all staff, learners and visitors of the Grow Your Potential CIC.

Key Principles

• Vehicles used, rented or hired have valid MOT certificates, Tax Discs and drivers      are insured to use the vehicle for business purposes.
• Passengers must wear safety belts at all times.
• Drivers must hold valid UK Driving Licenses.
• Risk assessments of learners travelling should be carried out.
• Parents’ permission should be received for outdoor trips and visits organised.

Staff Responsibility

• Obtain copies of documentation from hired transport companies
• Retain copies of documentation for staff.

Monitoring and Evaluation

• Assess policy annually
