Post 16 Provision
Supporting independence and preparing for adulthood
Our Goal
At Grow Your Potential, we know that the journey after secondary education can feel daunting for young people and their families. Our Post-16 provision is designed to bridge that gap, helping learners build the skills, confidence, and resilience they need to take their next steps into education, training, or employment.
What We Offer
- Independent Living Skills
From managing money and cooking, to travel training and self-care routines, we support young people to develop the practical skills they need for everyday life.
- Personal Development
Sessions to boost confidence, resilience, and communication – empowering learners to set goals and take responsibility for their futures.
- Vocational Pathways
Access to hands-on learning opportunities (such as construction at our Manor Farm site) alongside recognised qualifications.
- Therapeutic Support
Our trained ELSAs, mental health first aiders, and EBSA specialists provide tailored wellbeing support to help learners manage anxiety, school avoidance, or other barriers.
- Employability Skills
Learners develop essential employability skills such as communication, teamwork, and professionalism to prepare for future work or training.
Our Approach
Every learner has a personalised plan built around their strengths, needs, and ambitions. We work closely with parents, carers, and local authorities to ensure each young person leaves us with the skills and confidence to thrive in adulthood.
Responding to Local Need
Luton’s population remains younger than the national average (23.3% aged 15 and under vs. 18.5% nationally), driving increased demand for youth provision and inclusive educational pathways. Rising SEND identification—now at 18.4% nationally, with 4.8% holding an EHCP—further underscores the importance of high-support, high-engagement models like ours.
While Luton’s NEET rate (16–17) remains low at 3.7%, outperforming regional and national benchmarks, NEET rates for 16–24s nationally remain around 13–14%. Our new post-16 provision directly addresses this gap, providing therapeutic, creative, and vocational routes to help learners sustain engagement and transition successfully into further education, apprenticeships, or work.
